Association Info

Featured Resources

The Seadrift Association is a nonprofit mutual benefit organization that supports the interests of Seadrift property owners. Seadrift’s private, gated community features over a mile of sandy beaches, a mile-long man-made lagoon, and tennis/pickleball facilities with a landscaped picnic and barbecue area adjacent to the Bolinas Lagoon. Presenting endless recreational opportunities, Seadrift is a short walk from the village of Stinson Beach and the many hiking trails on Mount Tamalpais.

All properties inside the Seadrift gate are privately owned.  The west end of the sand spit (beyond the tennis courts) provides access for all property owners and guests to the ocean beach.  The west end of the Seadrift Lagoon provides access to the lagoon.  There is limited parking in both areas.

Security Information

A security officer is stationed at the entrance gate during the following hours:

  • Monday – Thursday: 7:30 AM–6:00 PM

  • Friday: 7:30 AM–9:00 PM

  • Saturday: 9:30 AM–9:00 PM

  • Sunday: 9:30 AM–6:00 PM

The security officer checks that all entrants to Seadrift are authorized.  Please give the names of expected guests to the gate.  If the gate is unattended, guests may use the Seadrift tele-entry access system adjacent to the office. If you have arranged for tele-entry access in advance, you may admit guests from your home by following the tele-entry instructions.  If not, property owners must admit guests with a gate card.

General Security Tips

  • Do not attempt to follow another car through the entry gate. The gate must open and close for each individual vehicle; otherwise, your car may be damaged and the gate arm broken (resulting in $150 replacement fee). To allow a second car through the gate, use the gate entry card a second time.

  • Observe the 20 MPH speed limit.  Children, pets, pedestrians, and bicycle traffic abound in Seadrift.

  • Dogs must be always under supervision and picked up after. Dogs are not allowed on the lagoon mudflats or islands.

  • Fires are not permitted on the beach, dunes, or open space.

  • Horses and motor vehicles, other than the Seadrift Association patrol vehicle, are not allowed on the beach.

  • Any improvements to your property must be submitted in writing to the Seadrift Association indicating the scope of work to be performed and a timeline. You can submit a project through this application link.

  • There is a BBQ area adjacent to the courts; it is available for day use.  Please contact the Seadrift Association office to reserve the BBQ area.

  • The boat ramp into the Bolinas Lagoon at the western end of Dipsea Road is for day use of Seadrift property owners and their guests.  Please call the Seadrift Association office regarding use of the boat ramp.  (See enclosed Rules & Enforcement Provisions) [link]

  • To avoid disturbing the seals on Kent Island (a Federal Offense) approach them no closer than 100 yards either on foot, by boat, kayak, or canoe. If you witness someone disturbing marine mammals, or if you see a sick or injured marine mammal, please call the Marine Mammal Center hotline at  415-289-SEAL (7325).
