Breaking Ground

In gardening, breaking ground means preparing a new garden bed by loosening, clearing, and enriching the soil. It's a fitting metaphor for this moment, as we launch our new website and begin a new “season” of communication at Seadrift.

Over the past two years, the communication within Seadrift has progressed significantly, and the numbers just from this last year tell a compelling story about how the community has engaged in that communication: 11 Manager’s Minutes; 95 individualized letters to Marin County related to LCP amendments; 199 participants (an increase of 59) in the Holiday Fund with 82 contributing electronically; 109 Architectural projects submitted electronically; 250 homeowners electing electronic delivery over print; 20% paying dues through ACH; more than 100 homeowners responding just in the first couple weeks of the gate card audit electronic survey; and 139 responses to the homeowner survey on the South Shoreline Project. The list goes on. We have tilled this fertile ground together; our communications have taken root.

A New Season of Connection

The launch of this website marks a new chapter, as we continue to break ground in our communications. Your feedback is vital to our growth, so please share your thoughts. The true wealth of Seadrift cannot be easily quantified; rather, it lives and breathes in the strength of our connection.

My blog will be a regular feature on the website. I see it as a chance to reflect on our shared experiences and to find new opportunities for this community we all love. Unlike the Manager’s Minute, which will continue as a steady, ad-hoc news feature, this blog is meant to be a two-way conversation with you—a place to reflect on the past to better engage with our future.

I look forward to growing our connection together.
